Mochi Mugi Pearl Barley can be prepared in 15-20 minutes, unlike traditional barley which takes 45-60 min.

Can I mix rice and Mochi Barley?

Yes! Mochi Barley is processed to pair perfectly with the white rice flavor, and it makes a great dish when mixed together because it produces the perfect flavor, texture and appearance.

In fact, you can substitute part or ALL of your white rice with an equal serving of Mochi pearl barley, and you can even cook them together in your rice cooker!

  • Push the button that turns the rice cooker on
  • Wait 15 minutes
  • Eat and be amazed!

You can also cook it like pasta:

  • Boil water in a pot.
  • Pour Mochi Barley into the boiling water.
  • Reduce the heat to medium.
  • Simmer for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  • Drain in a colander.

For the second part - Yes. To prepare:

  • Measure rice, but only use half of what you would normally cook
  • Replace the other half with Mochi Barley - pour both into cooker
  • Add water based on the original recommendation on your white rice bag
  • Push the button to cook
